30 Days to Zero Waste (Day 10: To Go Containers)


How many of you can ever finish a meal at a restaurant? I'm one who can't the majority of the time. Of course, with portion sizes the way they are today who could? Well now that you've decided to work towards a zero waste lifestyle, does that mean you just waste the food to avoid getting that styrofoam container to take it all home in? Nope! I keep a stainless steel container from ECO Lunch Box, with me at all times and use it as my "to-go" container. The best part is it's all ready to go for your lunch tomorrow! The stainless steel containers have served me well in my zero waste endeavor. I use it for a quick bite of street food, at food trucks, wet food at grocery stores, I use it to take my lunch to work, etc. Of course, you could always use containers you already have, even a mason jar!

If you've noticed a trend of having to keep a lot of things on you in order to avoid trash, you are correct. Preparation is key to refusing disposables. A trick I've used is keeping a Zero Waste Kit on me at all times so I don't have to worry about if I'm prepared or not.     1. yes, they can go in the oven , are non toxic and durable.
